- iTunes 12.8.3.1 not longer recognizes iPad 5th...
- #1
Hi Guys,
i recently updated my iPad 5th Mini Gen. Wifi version to the latest iOS 18.1.1.
The update was done via Wifi, all went well so far.
But when connecting the iPad to my MacBook Pro running High Sierra (Mac OS 10.13.6), the latest iTunes version (12.8.3.1), it no longer recognizes the iPad, even though the System appears on the USB bus information, and even "Photos" recognizes the iPad and offers all images for download.
Has this iOS been dropped to work with this iTunes version or vice versa?
I did this in preparation for an update on my iPhone SE 2022 which runs the earlier version of iOS 17.7.1, but i did not dare to run the Update on my iPhone since it is mandatory to be able to do backups via iTunes.
I also know that this is a very old machine, but it is important to me to work since the option to sync my own music to my iDevices have been dropped in later versions. And as a DJ i need my music on my device.
I tried a couple of things like removing the iTunes plist files from
[username]/library/preferences, but to no effect.
Should i run the iTunes installer again, or is there any way to get this back to work?
Please let me know, i really need this functionality.
Best regards
Claas
