It doesn't really matter cause of the very good battery management system of your MacBook.

I always thought the using plugged in is a bad thing for battery life but I heard that when plugged in Mac does not use from the battery thus long live the battery king.

If your MacBook is plugged in, it does use the energy of the charger and not the battery. As I said, the battery management system will do its job.

But your Mac will charge to 100 percent if you connect it with the charger, and also without usage, the battery can't hold the 100 percent the whole time, so for example it charges to 100%, drops down back to 98 percent and charges again to 100 percent. This will happen many times, so even if you let your Mac plugged in, the Battery will drain a little bit, but not as much, as it would do without the charger.

But for the next time if you have another questions, please ask the english apple community, because this is the German one, so not everyone is able to understand everything, if its written in English.

Here is the English apple support community: Official Apple Support Community.
