Restore Data from Locked iPhone

Don’t use that last passcode attempt unless you’re very sure of the code.

There is one important possibility first: if you changed the iPhone passcode within the last 72 hours, tap Forgot Passcode? on the lock screen. iOS 26 may offer Enter Previous Passcode, which lets you unlock the iPhone with the old passcode and create a new one. If you didn’t recently change the passcode, your Apple Account password can’t substitute for the iPhone passcode. An Apple Store also can’t bypass the passcode or retrieve the encrypted photos for you. They can help reset the iPhone, but resetting erases the data on it.

Turning off Erase Data after 10 failed attempts prevents the automatic erase, but Apple says that after 10 failed attempts the iPhone still has to be restored to regain access.

Before doing any reset, I’d check carefully for an existing iCloud or computer backup. If the photos weren’t in iCloud Photos and aren’t in a backup anywhere, I wouldn’t erase the phone while there’s still any chance you may remember the passcode.

Ohne Passwort kommst du nicht an den Inhalt deines iPhones heran. Das ist ja schliesslich auch dessen Zweck.

Um das Passwort zurückzusetzen, musst du dein iPhone zurücksetzen, dabei werden sämtliche Daten und Inhalte gelöscht. Sie sind ein- für allemal verloren, wenn du kein Backup (lokal/iCloud) hast oder wenigstens mit iCloud synchronisierst.

Einzige Möglichkeit, das zu verhindern, ist es, innerhalb von 72 Stunden nach der Falscheingabe, hiernach vorzugehen: Wenn du deinen neuen Code vergisst, verwende innerhalb von 72 Stunden deinen alten Code, um dein iPhone oder iPad zu entsperren - Apple Support (DE).
